How do I get to Quanzhou?
High-speed rail: about 20 minutes from Xiamen, 4.5–6 hours from Shanghai to Quanzhou Station. There's no metro — the old town is compact enough to walk, with ¥2 electric carts on West Street and ride-hailing for everything beyond it.
Do Quanzhou's temples charge admission?
No — Kaiyuan Temple and Chengtian Temple are both free with no reservation needed (bring your passport during festival periods). The only paid entry on our list is the scenic area at Chongwu Ancient Town, and even that is free before 7:00 and after 19:00.
